It’s been ages since I’ve had time to sit down and write a blog, but I’m finally back! For my first post after my two week hiatus, I’m showing you all a few of the things I picked up over spring break! I’ve got retro makeup, Vegas-worthy bikinis, and more!
Cheese is the glue that holds my life together and I can’t imagine going longer than a month without indulging in an old-fashioned burger, but I’m always looking for food that challenges the notion that animal products are the key to delicious eats. The Vegan Street Fair in North Hollywood provided the perfect chance to experiment with different cruelty-free food and see just how tasty vegan food can be. Check it out!
I’ve been majorly craving a burger lately, so why not torture myself by finally reviewing the famous burger from Father’s Office? This LA hotspot has a convenient location in Culver City WITH valet parking. Yeah, and that’s just the beginning. You actually have to be 21 just to get into the restaurant, so after waiting a couple years, I finally got a taste of the delicious eats. Burgers > alcohol.

Today – March 2nd – is officially my BLOGIVERSARY! It’s been exactly one year since I published my first blog on The Love Pug, and I’m so proud, happy, excited, and amazed at how much it has grown in so little time. I can’t imagine my life without blogging now and it’s completely changed the way I think about my future, especially as my college graduation approaches and I have to start thinking about a career! Monday birthdays are a bit of a bummer – you end up having to go to class or work and celebrating comes later. Luckily, the whole weekend before provides ample time for true celebration! Considering my first ever blog post was about my 21st birthday brunch, I thought it’d be fitting to document my brunch feast for my 22nd birthday! Saturday afternoon was spent indulging in some amazing food porn at Scarlett Begonia, a hidden gem in downtown Santa Barbara.
Spring has sprung! It may only be February, but the weather here in California has been blue skies and sunshine. Global warming concerns aside, the warmer weather has given me that push to switch up my wardrobe for the new season. Happy FRI-YAY! Unfortunately, most of my weekend will be spent studying for my impending midterms (my last midterms ever!), but before I hole up in a dark corner of the library, I treated myself to some scrumptious ice cream at Salt & Straw. I have been dying to try this gourmet spot for ages, but could never muster up the energy to drive all the way to the Larchmont location. Luckily, the ice creamery opened up a new location on Abbott Kinney a few weeks ago! So I naturally had to stop by and try just about every flavor.
