It’s been ages since I’ve had time to sit down and write a blog, but I’m finally back! For my first post after my two week hiatus, I’m showing you all a few of the things I picked up over spring break! I’ve got retro makeup, Vegas-worthy bikinis, and more!
So as you know if you’ve seen the multitude of selfies on my Instagram, I now have blue hair. Yup, I took the plunge and finally did something CRAZY. I’ve done everything from dark red to black to an ombré, but I’ve never done a style so drastic. So I put myself in the capable hands of Miss Tea at Sirens Salon, closed my eyes, and hoped for the best! Here’s my transformation and some tips for you if you’re considering becoming a mermaid like me.
Between my own makeup addiction and Sephora practically being the family business, I have a LOT of beauty products. I’m talking a case full of makeup, two bags of skincare products, and – no joke – over 30 different lipsticks. Out of all of these products, I have some that are near and dear to my heart. I chose my favorite 10 – the ones I simply can’t live without.
In my world, makeup is a key component to a bitchin’ outfit. If your face isn’t meshing with your bod, your whole look gets thrown out of whack. That’s not to say makeup’s always necessary. The no-makeup look is kind of like jeans and a white tee: basic and comfy, but a little boring. So I like to change up my makeup routine as often as I change up my wardrobe. As Fall approaches, my style is beginning to change – I dyed my hair a deep burgundy, I’m buying more denim, and I’m testing out some heavier makeup looks. Here’s one of my new favorite routines using five new products I’m in love with.
I’m a lipstick junkie. Everyone knows it, and if a girl ever needs a lip color, she knows I’m the person to come to. I own over 30 colors, from pink lip stains to shimmery glosses to old school fire engine red. I never used to wear lipstick. I would line my eyes with blue or green eyeliner and consider my face dolled up. Ah, 7th grade. Now, I’m more likely to just brush on mascara and put all of my focus into creating that perfect pink pout. Some of you may read this and say, “She looks so great in lipstick (thanks, I know), but I just can’t pull it off.” Shut up. I have never met a woman who looked bad in lipstick. I have also never had someone tell me I looked bad in lipstick. If anything, I get more compliments when I bust out a neon pink or cherry red. So grow a uterus (one of the strongest muscles in the body!) and be brave enough to rock your perfect shade.
I recently went on a bit of a shopping spree and have been obsessing over my new purchases for a while. So, I figured why not do an obsession post? I collected all of my recent favorites from swim wear to beauty and compiled them into one, probably way too long blog post. I hope I can tempt some of you into spending money so we can all be broke college kids together.
