Between my own makeup addiction and Sephora practically being the family business, I have a LOT of beauty products. I’m talking a case full of makeup, two bags of skincare products, and – no joke – over 30 different lipsticks. Out of all of these products, I have some that are near and dear to my heart. I chose my favorite 10 – the ones I simply can’t live without.
I’m starting the list off with a perfume. Unlike lipsticks and face masks, I’m very picky with my fragrances. I expect fruity notes or hints of sweet florals – like springtime in a bottle. That’s why I love the Fresh perfumes (especially Citron de Vigne) because it’s… well, fresh with a lemony scent and a touch of flowers. It’s my go to for a delicate, daily perfume.
2. Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette
I’m a sucker for neutrals, so the Chocolate Bar palette with its deep browns, peachy shimmers, and pops of olive and purple. The colors meld perfectly for intricate smokey eyes, or I just sweep on a single chocolatey color to bring out the blue in my eyes. Plus, the shadows have cocoa powder in them so your eyeballs will smell like chocolate – who doesn’t want that?
3. Josie Maran Argan Cleansing Oil
If you’re not oil cleansing, you’re doing it wrong. It’s the most gentle and nourishing way to remove your makeup and any pent up dirt and oils at the end of the day. I know, it sounds contradictory to wash your face with oil of all things, but trust me it works like magic. I especially recommend this for anyone with dry/sensitive skin – I’ve been using it for years and will never go back to other harsh cleansers!
4. Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop
I featured this in a MOTD post last month because I have been OBSESSED. So many makeup artists and beauty gurus have been gushing over this limited edition highlighter and for good reason! This shit is like angel dust being sprinkled over your face. I like to brush it along my brow bone, cheek bones, the tip of my nose, and on my cupid’s bow for that “strobe” effect.
5. Buxom Lipstick in Two-Timer
This is another product featured in an earlier blog post about must-have lip colors and it still holds true today. This is my MLBB (my lips but better), everyday, go-to lip color. The description is “earthy rose,” which I think is perfectly fitting for this dusty, chocolatey pink shade. The Buxom formula is also super creamy and long lasting.
6. Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow in Chocolate
Anastasia BH kind of has a monopoly on all things brows on fleek and it’s pretty easy to see why when you try their famous Dipbrow. The highly pigmented and creamy pomade goes on smoothly and creates defined, full brows. Eyebrows are the curtains to the windows to the soul, so I make sure they’re looking fierce. My super secret tip? Scoop a small amount into the lid and mix it with your brush until it’s softer and thinner – this makes it much easier to use the right amount and make cleaner lines!
7. Kat Von D Shade + Light Contour Palette
I suck at contouring. I’ll admit it – I just can’t figure it out. I always end up putting too little pigment on so my cheekbones are still (sadly) non-existent. Yet I own this amazing palette from Kat Von D with incredibly pigmented and lush powders. It’s the perfect palette for learning how to contour and practicing over and over… and over… and over until I finally get dat Kardashian look.
8. Make Up Forever Pro Finish Powder Foundation
You can tell how much I use this by that shiny pan peeking through. And, yes, I will probably use this until there is nothin’ left but pan. I love this light formula (I use shade 118) as a finishing powder after I’ve applied my foundation, blush, etc. It helps set my face for the day and keep away any pesky shine (unwanted shine, that is). I just keep this baby in my purse and apply throughout the day as a pick-me-up.
Another previously featured (check out my Five Faves from the other week) but also for good reason. I received this dry shampoo from Ipsy – click the link to sign up! It’s an amazing deal – and I fell in love. Not only is it not chalky, but it’s light as air and smells good! If you’re in the market for dry shampoo, this is the best one out there.
10. Kat Von D Liquid Lipstick in Outlaw
There’s nothing better than a classic red lip. Out of the dozen or so red shades in my makeup kit, I chose this liquid lipstick because of it’s crazy intense color and strong staying power. It goes on like a liquid, dries matte! It makes for sharp lines, lasts all day, and won’t end up smeared all over your face (tru story).
